Adopt religiously-neutral regulations

Religion is personal.  When a group holding one religious position attempts to impose the beliefs of that religion on the greater community, it demeans our government. Abortion is a personal issue, but opposition to abortion is a religous issue. The last Governor and his constituents imposed their religious beliefs on Virginia when they created the new architectural rules for abortion clinics. They did not show any evidence that there was a problem caused by the existing standards, but created new ones. If they truely believed that wider doors and hallways would make a clinic safer, they would have required those standards for ALL out-of-hospital clinics.  They did not. They targeted clinics that provided a service to women that was in conflict with their religiously-based beliefs.

I urge you to reinstitute the grandfather clause that exempted existing clinics from the revised architectural standards or require the same standards for all clinics that perform outpatient procedures. Please, adopt religoiusly neutral regulations
