Uphold Standards, Protect Women

Board of Health,

I do not believe that abortion is a legitimate option that any person should have - it ends a human life, which is a prerogative that God reserves to Himself. However, as long as this society allows abortions to be performed, then under no circumstances should those who perform these functions be allowed to do so without complying with minimum health and safety regulations and standards that routinely apply to all medical services that carry even lesser risk to those who receive them. Those who oppose the regulations that have been established in Virginia claim that they are working for womens benefit, whereas the removal of the regulations will greatly increase the likelihood of additional women experiencing injury or illness from the poor sanitation and procedural practices that have been documented in numerous inspections over the recent past. Please care for these women, as misguided as they may be in their choices to partake of these services. They need protection from the predatory practices of those who become wealthy off them while showing no care for their well-being or safety. Do your duty, and may God accomplish His will through you. Thank you. Earl C. Bennett, III
