TRAP (Targeted Regulation of Abortion Providers) is a conservative legislative tactic to destroy access to abortion without challenging Roe vs. Wade, by imposing medically irrelevant but extremely costly architectural standards on abortion clinics (but no other type of facility). In Virginia, the rules are set to eventually shut down almost all (18 of 22) clinics which provide abortions. 

I urge the board to reject these rules, which have no benefit to womena and are not enacted evenly across all types of outpatient facilities. If patient safety were the motivating factor behind the rules, they would need to be broadly enacted across the many types of outpatient facilities that exist in Virginia. 

Women's health and women's lives are at stake. I urge to to reject the TRAP laws and support women's access to reproductive healthcare.
