Inappropriate Reading Material in High School English Class

I am flabbergasted to find out that some high school children in Fairfax County Public Schools have been required to read books in English class that have in them extensive foul language, explicit sexual material, beastiality, etc. As an English Major in college many years ago, I was not required to read such material.  This has been done without parental permission in Fairfax County Public Schools.  I believe that many parents would object to their children being exposed to such filth in school.

Children who are being raised well could very well be shocked by such material.  One of my friend's children seemed upset one day.  When the mother asked her what was the matter, it turned out that she was upset by what she had to read in English class.  Where is our culture going when we have so little regard for what we are exposing our children to in school without parental permission?  I know that they wouldn't have my permission.
