Reject, absolutely. Parents already have the option of requesting their child be exempt from reading certain important, classic literature that contains subjectively "controversial" material and given an alternative assignment within reason. If  you (unfortunately) don't want your child to be exposed to the important issues, themes, and concepts covered in classic literature such as To Kill a Mockingbird, Of Mice and Men, The Giver, Night, Crime and Punishment, Beloved, or Fahrenheit 451 (a book all of the supporters of this retrogressive amendment should read and learn from IMMEDIATELY), you're entitled to your view. But please, do not force your archaic worldview on others who wish for their child to have a well-rounded education, and be exposed to literature that touches on very real issues they will face as adults.
