Abolish Shackling--It is a violation of the dignity of the human person.

Social Action Linking Together, a faith-based advocacy organization, supports the prohibition of shackling pregnant inmates in local and regional jails and prisons, in agreement with regulations of the Virginia Department of Correction.  The human person is sacred, and the dignity of the human person is the foundation of a moral vision for society. Respect for the dignity of the human person is an ethical principle that is fundamental for advancing social justice in our communities. Shackling violates the dignity of the human person and should be abolished.
