Virginia's adoption agencies should not discriminate against Virginians.

State-liscenced adoption agencies should not be allowed to discriminate based on race, marital status, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, age, disability, religion, or political beliefs.

If Virginia stands by non-profits who support discriminatory policies, they are placing themselves and the whole foster-care and permanent adoption process in an ANTI-Child and ANTI-family position.

There are so many children who need permanent, stable homes that supporting policies that essentially cross willing, able, and committed individuals and families off of the list for any of the reasons above is simply unconscionable.  The science and economics clearly provide evidence that children who grow up in unstable homes, in and out of temporary care, WILL undoubtedly fare worse and cost our communities more in the long term.

Please make the right choice - the interest of the child should be the deciding factor in who is allowed to be a foster and adoptive parents.  Discrimination in the foster and adoptive process is wrong, and will rob our society's most vulnerable children of many potential loving parents and families.
