To deny a child the ability to grow up in a loving home because those providing for him or her happen to be gay is simply barbaric. Discrimination does not benefit anyone. It is un-American, and everyone should stand up when the beliefs of a few are used to delay progress toward true equality.
Efforts to keep these children away from happy homes are rooted in hate, and should not be supported by a legal system acting in the best interest of all citizens. The best interest of the child should be the only factor determining if a child should be placed with an adoptive parent. State-licensed agencies should not be allowed to discriminate against children or prospective parents based on race, nationality, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, politics, sexual orientation, disability, or family status.
