Dear Board Members,
All children deserve a loving, forever family. Currently, there are more than 1,000 children waiting to be adopted in Virginia. Decisions about prospective parents should be based on the best interest of the child, not on discriminatory factors unrelated to good parenting. I believe that when agencies act in the stead of the state, they should be bound by principles of non-discrimination, even if they are private agencies.
I am a parent and a voter living in Virginia. Please don't let the biases of some prevent children from joining loving families who want them. Children should not suffer because adults discriminate.
If those who want to discriminate are so concerned about the children's welfare, why haven't they adopted the children?
