Adoption Criteria

To Whom It May Concern:

I believe that any criteria concerning adoption should be based on what it best for the adoptee.

While it may be difficult to determine this in the case of the very young, a few characteristics should stand out:

1. The would be adopter should have adequate personal finances.

2. The would be adopter should be known for possessing good character. A background check would be appropiate here.

3. The would be adopter should have no reservations about being a loving and supportive parent for the adoptee for the rest of his or her life.

4. The would be adopter should be in good health and be expected to live at least until the adoptee reaches his or her 18th birthday.

5 The would be adopter would agree to not to pressure the adoptee to accept any particular political or religious belief and would encourage the adoptee to pursue scholastic excellence.
