Caring for and raising a child is a very serious responsibilty to take on by anyone.  Sexual orientation plays no part in how well or how badly an adult will raise a child.  It should not paly a part.  If gays and lesbians want to take on this responsibility to raise a child in a loving and supportive environment, then that is all that matters.  Leave religion and politics at the door where they belong.
