Freedom of Conscience for Faith-Based Adoption Agencies

We adopted our son from Uzbekistan 18 years ago with the assistance of Catholic Charities in Roanoke. What a shame it would have been if Catholic Charities had closed their doors, as happened in Massachusetts, in order to maintain their religious values. A faith-base adoption agency that believes that it is in the best interest of children to place them in a home where there is a traditionally married mother and father should not be placed in a position of having to act against their conscience or close their doors. Thank you for supporting this position in the original regulations. Please do not adopt any new regulations which change this.
