Finding a stable, loving home is the bottom line for children who are hoping to become part of a 'family'.  Our laws should be designed to do everything possible to match responsible adults with children regardless of religion, race, sexual orientation, gender, married or single etc.  If adoption is in the best interest of child, then we need to break through the red tape (and prejudice) much quicker than we do now and let this new family begin to bond & grow together.
