I speak as both an adoptive parent and a professional child advocate.  Children are best served in homes where they are loved and accepted, nurtured and protected.  It does not matter if that home is a single parent home, a "traditional" two parent family or a non "traditional" family.  In my work, I have seen plenty of abuse and neglect perpetrated by "traditional" families on their children.  To allow children to linger in foster care because of personal, bigoted ideologies is a human rights violation of those children and should cease immediately.
