I oppose discrimination in America

I support adoption equality and am opposed to discrimination. Our nation is founded upon precepts of equality and on these I stand as a voting citizen.

I concur with my fellow citizens in asserting that the best interests of the child should be the sole factor deciding whether a child should be placed with a prospective foster care or adoptive parent or parents.

State-licensed child-placing agencies should be banned from discriminating against children or prospective parents based on race, national origin, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, political beliefs, sexual orientation, disability and family status.

The State Board of Social Services should restore to the final rules such protections against such discrimination, as included in the proposed rules.
