A child needs both a mother and a father, and should never, ever be placed in a home where that is not available to them, one man as the father and one woman as the mother.  Any other course of action is unnatural and will seriously affect the ability of the child to grow up under healthy and normal conditons and bring that atmosphere into their own adulthood.
