Forcing faith based organizations to implement practices that are contrary to their foundational beliefs and principles ( or discontinue their services) will be, I believe, a crippling blow to the strength and integrity of our society.  From its inception, our country has been well served by religious organizations that have met the needs of the most vulnerable and needy among us. 

Children are our future and the family is the foundational unit of our society.  It is no accident , I believe, that throughout history and in all peoples, we find marriage and the  family to be made up of a male and female....man and woman ....and their subsequent children. The father and mother.....and the relationship they model...  may not always be what it should be....but that family unit needs to be supported and encouraged...not discarded and reinvented.  We think sometimes that something new is better....but the father-mother family unit has stood the test of time, and  its importance should not be treated lightly.  Our children deserve as much.
