When will we stop dumbing down our profession?

ADN's are clinical nurses. That is where their experience begins. Why would anyone (except those just looking to make a buck) want to take that away from a student nurse? Any nurse with more than 3 months of hospital experience understands that concept. We continue to work in a professional arena with physicians, OT, PT, pharmacists, and other educated professions who continue to require more education for entry into practice while we cheat our own upcoming professionals out of a true and meaningful educational experience.

Since there is no more nursing shortage, the hospital I am affiliated with has decided to only start hiring BSN's. Whether anyone agrees with that concept or not, cheating someone out of clinical experience will only make them less prepared and less desirable to potential employers.
