Excelisor College

Hi! I am a 2006 graduate of Excelsior College's disance learning RN program. I entered the program as an LPN. This is a tough program that only motivated, displined students will make it through successfully. The program is designed for applicants with a strong clinical background. You will NOT pass the clinical exam otherwise. The clinical exam is exactly that - an exam. Upon arrival you are told that all students are there to be examined, not instructed. No questions are allowed to be asked. So, a person HAS to be strong clinically to make it through the exam. The program does an outstanding job preparing you for the workfield and for the NCLEX. I am proud to say I passed both the clinical exam in Georgia and the NCLEX on the first try! This is evidence of the credibility of the program. More and more of even the RN graduates from Virginia's top community colleges are failing the NCLEX on the first try. I believe that this puts Excelsior College's program at least equal to, if not superior to any of these programs. So, please take these comments in to consideration when making a decision on this petition.
