As a 2008 graduate of Excelsior College (EC) and longtime Virginia resident, I support the effort to restore licensure by examination to EC graduates. The program itself is challenging and rigorous, and requires students to be healthcare providers of some merit and licensure/certification prior to application. Completing EC's ADN requires intelligence, dedication, and self-motivation. I work with other RNs who are EC graduates, and I find that they demonstrate strong skills and attention to excellent patient care and patient safety.
