| Purpose of the meeting A public hearing convened by the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to receive comment on a draft permit to limit air pollution from the Chickahominy Power Station to be located in Charles City County. Balico LLC has applied for a permit to build the Chickahominy Power Station. The facility will be classified as a major source of air pollution and will be located on Chambers Rd. (SR 685), 1 km (0.6 mi.) east of the intersection with Roxbury Rd. (SR 106), adjacent to the Chickahominy substation. Air modeling of this facility, with nearby sources of emissions, has shown that the concentrations of all pollutants and averaging periods are below PSD increments and will not contribute to significant deterioration of air quality. The air pollution emissions from this facility, as proposed, are not expected to cause injury to or interfere with safety, health, reasonable use of property, visibility, or to impact soils or vegetation. An information briefing will be held prior to the public hearing beginning at 5:30 p.m. | |
