| Purpose of the meeting A public meeting regarding a permit application from Nutri-Blend, Inc. to allow additional acreage for the land application of biosolids in Nottoway County. The public of the meeting is for the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to exchange information with the interested public on technical issues concerning the permit application such as: site-specific information that DEQ may consider when drafting the permit, the standard content of permits, and how the public can provide comment on a draft permit. Nutri-Blend, Inc. has submitted a permit application for a modification of a current VPA permit to authorize the applicant’s land application of biosolids in Nottoway County, Virginia. The application is for the modification of a permit to authorize the land application of biosolids to 2,932.47 acres of agricultural land at a controlled rate protective of water quality and human health. Of this area, 1,501.37 acres are newly proposed. Following the public meeting described in this notice, DEQ may draft a permit based on information in the application and, if a permit is drafted, DEQ will publish notice of the draft permit for public comment. That notice will include instructions on how to comment and/or request a public hearing on the draft permit. | |
