| Purpose of the meeting A public informational meeting regarding a permit application submitted by Synagro Central LLC, to allow the land application of biosolids and water treatment residuals in Essex County, Virginia. The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) will exchange information with the interested public on technical issues concerning the permit application such as: site-specific information that DEQ may consider when drafting the permit, the standard content of permits, and how the public can provide comment on a draft permit. Synagro Central LLC has applied for a permit to authorize the land application of biosolids as a fertilizer at controlled rates protective of water quality and human health to 312 fields in Essex County, VA, totaling approximately 15,331.0 acres of agricultural and silvicultural land.
