| Purpose of the meeting This Public Hearing is being held in accordance with Section 45.1-184.1 of the Code of Virginia on a permit application for a mine adjacent to Highway 16 approximately 1.5 miles south of Marion VA. The permit application is entitled “Teaters Shale #2”, and was submitted by Teaters Trucking, Inc. The permit documents will be available for review by the public, beginning at 6:00PM. Special accommodations for the disabled will be made available at the public meeting or hearing on request. Anyone needing special accommodations should contact the Department of Mines, Minerals and Energy at least seven days prior to the meeting or hearing date. The Public Hearing will begin at 6:30 PM, and public comment will be taken at that time. | |
