| Purpose of the meeting A public meeting for the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to exchange information with the interested public on technical issues related to a Virginia Pollution Abatement permit modification application submitted by Nutri-Blend, Inc. and a permit application submitted by Synagro Central LLC to apply biosolids in Goochland County. The biosolids will be land applied as a fertilizer at a controlled rate protective of water quality and human health. Following the public meeting described in this notice, DEQ may draft a permit based on information in the application and, if a permit is drafted, DEQ will publish notice of the draft permit for public comment. That notice will include instructions on how to comment and/or request a public hearing on the draft permit. Based on comments received on the draft permit, DEQ may make a final decision on the permit, or hold a public hearing on the draft permit, in which case, the State Water Control Board would make the final decision on the permit. The public may review the permit application at the public meeting and at the DEQ office named below. | |
