| Purpose of the meeting This is the second meeting of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) for the Accotink Creek Watershed Benthic TMDL project. Biological monitoring data collected by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) have shown that portions of Accotink Creek and Long Branch do not meet Virginia’s water quality aquatic life use standard due to poor health in the benthic biological communities. DEQ, with assistance from Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin (ICPRB), will be presenting the results of the draft stressor identification analysis. The draft stressor analysis was completed to identify the most probable stressors to the benthic communities in the Accotink Creek watershed, and will lead into the TMDL development phase of the project.
