| Summary | The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Storage Tank Program investigates reports of petroleum releases and ensures they are characterized and cleaned up to prevent risk to human health and the environment. If water supplies are impacted by petroleum constituents, the DEQ Storage Tank Program may provide an alternate water supply or treatment system to remove petroleum from the water supply. The purpose of this Quality Assurance Project Plan is to ensure that procedures used and data collected by DEQ staff and DEQ hired contractors are of sufficient quality to support the decisions about the need to provide alternate water supplies to persons having wells that are impacted by petroleum. |

| Explanation or Citations | The guidance document applies to investigations and cleanups at petroleum release sites. In addition to applying to the UST Technical Regulation, it also applies to Articles 9 and 11 of State Water Control Law.
