Regulations Review

Standard adjustments relating to implementation and economic impact.

VAC 40-151

250 Staff Development, should state "working days"  instead of just "days".  This would make the appropriate adjustment for all shift schedule variances.

Fifteen hours of additional training is too much, economic and scheduling impact on smaller programs is considerable since staff reasonably expect to be compensated for training time.

360 Building Inspections ...

Cost for Food Service Establishment license has risen to over $200, for small group homes this is an excessive cost.  In addtion all staff preparing, serving food must have ServSafe class at $100 per person.  So for a small program serving 11 to 15 kids each meal the additional cost  is over $1000.

If you are a USDA receiptiant you should be excluded from th is entire standard because USDA meal approval, food prep, storage and food borne illness policies are far more stringent.

Prohibitions - Restriction of incoming and outgoing mail add "and orlegal guardian if under the age of 18".
