I support Rooftop Solar in Virginia's Energy plan

I installed solar panels on my house in 2015. Solar power is a safe, cheap, non-polluting energy source that provides local job. Rooftops are otherwise wasted space, so they make very good locations for generating solar power as opposed to ground installations which take land that could otherwise be used for crops, livestock, or other developement. Virginia's Energy Plan should expand incentives for customer-owned rooftop solar and eliminate barriers to its growth.

Incentives like net metering let me get fair credit for the solar energy we produce. The business model of paying for power line maintence costs with power charges may need to be changed, but arbitrary limits like standby charges and system size limitations discriminate against solar producers and the creation of local jobs.

Please expand rooftop solar in Virginia to create well-paying jobs, build clean, local energy into our communities and give Virginians energy choice and freedom.

Thank you.
