Description This regulation establishes programmatic rules for the maintenance of the Code-authorized Directory of Qualified Interpreters and the Virginia Quality Assurance Screening Program.

Goals of Regulation 1. To protect public health, safety, and welfare with the least possible costs and intrusiveness to the citizens and businesses of the Commonwealth.
2. To provide a mechanism which ensures that only Code-defined qualified interpreters are listed in the Statewide Directory of Qualified Interpreters.
3. To provide a framework for screening interpreters and transliterators that allows for maximum participation in a cost-effective manner.
