Mount nebo Solar Partners, LLC has provided the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) a notice of intent to submit the necessary documentation for a permit by rule for a small renewable energy project (solar) in Surry County pursuant to Virginia Regulation 9VAC15-60. The proposed project will be located along Colonial Trail East approximately 3 miles east of Surry. The project will have a maximum generating capacity of 20 megawatts alternating current (AC) across approximately 80.2 acres. The project is located at 37°7'3.78"N, 76°47'12.20"W. The project will use approximately 38,000 solar panels mounted to single-axis trackers that will follow the path of the sun throughout the day.
